Season is the part of the year you're in? Like spring, summer, fall or winter.

Scurvy has to do with sailors. I think.

I have no idea what the rest is.

what is a sailor ? [ They hadn't seen a real ocean until they got here, so they have no idea there's a word for People On Ships. They probably wouldn't be able to tell you what a sailing ship looked like if you paid them. ]

It's a person who sails a boat.

for crossing lakes / rivers ? [ People who ride boats get special words, makes sense to them. They don't question it. ]

Mostly the sea, but probably those other ones too? I'm far from an expert.

wet, and it's just so big. And there's nowhere to hide! It's so open. Underground has its dangers, but at least it feels safer, in some ways. ]

I had never seen the sea before coming here so your guess is as good as mine. The boats are probably sturdy enough?
