💀 voice 📘
[The new iStone clicks on, and with a quick clearing of his throat, Kravitz’ voice comes through crisp and… maybe a bit rehearsed. It’s obvious he’s fumbling with the new text feature, so he’s just going to stick to talking right now.]
Our last few months on these islands have me thinking about a conversation I had a while ago with someone who is unfortunately no longer here. While I know we’ve learned quite a bit in the time some of us have been on this archipelago, very little of it is properly available to new arrivals and we risk the loss of this information when people unexpectedly disappear. In addition, seeing as people can simply vanish at any given time, it’s horribly difficult to figure out how many of us we have running around at all. When half of us were children recently enough we couldn’t have told you the information we had as adults, and if that had been permanent, we’d be, well, rather shit out of luck.
[He sighs, trying to collect himself in a way that isn’t just a frustrated ramble, which is also the technical point of this miniature speech.]
All of that is to say… we have a library with books and paper, and if our purpose here is to be telling a story, I feel we should start recording it. I’d like to invite people to come and write down what you’ve learned here, so we can keep a catalog to inform new arrivals and refresh ourselves before we repeat past mistakes. Anything is relevant and nothing is too small not to be marked, so please don’t be shy in thinking someone else has it covered. I’ll do my best to compile the information into something more organized once we have a fair number of responses. In addition, I’d like to keep some record of us as well- your name and where you live would suffice. If you’re all amenable, I would also like to suggest having point people or trusted contacts for each islet and lived area, so if a catastrophe occurs on our shores we’re able to quickly locate and assist anyone who may be in direct peril.
[There’s a slight pause, before he kind of awkwardly adds--]
This is Kravitz, by the way. Uhm. You may have seen me… around. I’ll be down at the library today recording my own experiences. Please let me know if you have any questions.
[ooc: OOC Info on the library is over here!]

[That was like the first thing he did once he realized what was going on.]
Anyway, I'm not transporting my shit anywhere so you can come here if you want my notes.
[Why is it phrased like that? OHHHHHHH IDK, HE ONLY HAS A LITERAL CRAZY WALL OF NOTES.]
no subject
Uhm. I mean, I was told a bit, but mostly people were similarly affected.
[There was a lot going on okay. He might regret this, but if Connor's offering he's sure gonna try it.]
May I come see... whatever it is you have?
no subject
[If it wasn't entirely clear who was talking before, it would be now. Is he currently writing a whole bullshit section for his wall about how Kravitz is probably a vampire? Absolutely.
He said Kravitz could come look at his notes. He didn't say he was going to be nice about it.]
I have all the fucking Umui information left, so yeah. You're going to need what I have.

Well excuse me for trying to catalog some things around here.

they've got notes on a lot of people here
[Oh Tim honey no]
what kind of information on this place are you looking for
text
I'm not certain Chara wants to talk to me. But if you believe they would be amenable, I promise to keep my questions on topic. As for relevant information, I'm searching for anything important to our survival here or unique information that was learned on this island. I'm attempting to create an archive of what we know, so we can figure out what we are missing.

thats pretty vague
anything more specific than "literally everything" because some of us have been here from the beginning but i'm not gonna break down the entire 2+ years i've spent here blow for blow

I would be happy to be a point of contact, if necessary. I am...not unfamiliar with keeping track of large groups in a crisis.
[He wouldn't have said anything if Toriel were still here. But...it seems she is not.]
I live on the third islet - the one to the southeast.
no subject
That sounds perfect. I can mark you down, uhm... I should probably determine what order people have been numbering them in. I was going from the mana pool clockwise, but I'm also not out there very much.
[Being one of the few people who actually still lives on Enso- and not even in the monkey compound- means he actually knows very little about the islets other than the farming one. Even better that someone else manages those efforts.]
You said southeast? Is that the one all the way that direction, or uhm... I suppose if we said north, west, southwest, southeast, and east?
no subject
[They should really have a system for that. Maybe just name them, even.]
Ah, there are two mana pools on the islets. If you ask for the southern one, and walk east from there, the next islet is the one I mean.

I don't know if I should, um, be the person people go to for my islet. Aside from knowing a lot of what is in the library I still don't know a lot about the islands here. Though I am pretty recognizable so maybe it would be ok?
I'll come to the library later, you can let me know where you want to set this stuff up so we can have a dedicated space. It's too bad there's only one desk...

[He's also just reveling in being In Charge of something again. He's a simple man and just wants something to do, gosh.]
In addition, it's perfectly fine for you not to feel comfortable as a point of contact. We want those who would be confident in a crisis, and there is no shame in admitting that your skills in any respect may not be where you want them to be.
no subject
...and that's nice of you to say but I can think of a number of dragons who would, um, disagree with you on that. I've- I've disappointed a lot of people because I'm not much of a leader and not good at making people listen to me. I think that might be part of why I'm here, to be honest.

[Hmmm.]
Might want to ask everyone where they're from too. I know a few people were yanked away from some pretty strange places, like halfway across the galaxy or the Land of the Dead. That's going to make it hard to get everyone back where they belong, if we ever find a way.
no subject
[Like, who knows where the land of the dead is for this guy. Kravitz has the distinct impression that Hector's Astral Plane is much unlike his own.]
Perhaps one day we will even travel the multiverse. I cannot say.

[And, y'know...] There has to be something we all have in common.

[Though hmmm, he does know more than one person on this island that can't write. Perhaps he will have to offer more services.]
If you need someone to transcribe, I am also willing to do so, though depending on the information you'd like to record it may take several days.
