[The new iStone clicks on, and with a quick clearing of his throat, Kravitz’ voice comes through crisp and… maybe a bit rehearsed. It’s obvious he’s fumbling with the new text feature, so he’s just going to stick to talking right now.]

Our last few months on these islands have me thinking about a conversation I had a while ago with someone who is unfortunately no longer here. While I know we’ve learned quite a bit in the time some of us have been on this archipelago, very little of it is properly available to new arrivals and we risk the loss of this information when people unexpectedly disappear. In addition, seeing as people can simply vanish at any given time, it’s horribly difficult to figure out how many of us we have running around at all. When half of us were children recently enough we couldn’t have told you the information we had as adults, and if that had been permanent, we’d be, well, rather shit out of luck.

[He sighs, trying to collect himself in a way that isn’t just a frustrated ramble, which is also the technical point of this miniature speech.]

All of that is to say… we have a library with books and paper, and if our purpose here is to be telling a story, I feel we should start recording it. I’d like to invite people to come and write down what you’ve learned here, so we can keep a catalog to inform new arrivals and refresh ourselves before we repeat past mistakes. Anything is relevant and nothing is too small not to be marked, so please don’t be shy in thinking someone else has it covered. I’ll do my best to compile the information into something more organized once we have a fair number of responses. In addition, I’d like to keep some record of us as well- your name and where you live would suffice. If you’re all amenable, I would also like to suggest having point people or trusted contacts for each islet and lived area, so if a catastrophe occurs on our shores we’re able to quickly locate and assist anyone who may be in direct peril.

[There’s a slight pause, before he kind of awkwardly adds--]

This is Kravitz, by the way. Uhm. You may have seen me… around. I’ll be down at the library today recording my own experiences. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ah-- yes, that makes more sense. While you are correct that this place is often dangerous, I don't want to give... opportunity, I suppose, to make those who cannot fight believe they can charge into battle. While self-defense is important, there is nothing shameful about not fighting, and I wouldn't want to instigate a noncombatant into trying to be a hero.

[Is he very pointedly thinking of Ren here? Maybe. It's possible. Don't @ him.]

I am still looking for volunteers, though. Can you let me know which islet you live on?

Well, I see your point. I don't want anyone head diving into danger just because they've learned to protect themselves either. [Despite the fact he fights and puts himself in danger anyway. Usually to protect people he cares about. DON'T JUDGE!!!!!!] And if they'd rather not want to learn, that's fine.

Still, whether or not you'd encourage that person might depend on their personality and how much you know 'em, I guess.

Thankfully there isn't time to concentrate on flavortext when Zidane is still speaking, because those words are quite enough. He blinks down at his stone, mouth open but silent for a few seconds before he replies.]

The... the who what now? Mysterious... whom?

[He has no idea how to even begin to parse that sentence or what it could mean. At his level of understanding, he's struggling just to hang onto the idea that he's probably referring to a person.

[Well Zidane has not died here yet and if he does he’d TRY TO STAY CHEERFUL BUT IT WOULD BE HARD because disbelief and processing and all that.

But anyway, Kravitz’s confusion makes him squint a little. He sighs ] Never mind. It was a joke. [Sort of. He is arrogant enough to think he’s super popular with women.] I just live in that house, okay? That’s all you need to know.

[Sorry Zidane, he's very, very bad at social cues. It's better Kravitz can't be seen as he nods a little sagely, taking any kind of joke much too seriously before he can move on.]

Right, right. I'll, uh, mark that down. What was your name again...?

[A lot is happening right now, he just needs to get back to his notes.]

[It's okay, Kravitz. Zidane makes plenty of jokes people either get confused by or roll their eyes at.]

Zidane. Like I said, I'm in the house in the center, the furthest to the south of that island. Anything else you need to know?

[He goes ahead and writes that down, along with a little arrow in the corner pointing to it that says "very enthusiastic, kind of confusing. Ask Taako." He won't say that part, though- it's not your fault he's an old man Zidane.]

Alright, perfect. I don't have anything else at the moment since I do not have a comprehensive list of who is going to be where yet, but once I have an initial list I'll be sure to reach out to you all about best practices. Does that sound alright?
