[The new iStone clicks on, and with a quick clearing of his throat, Kravitz’ voice comes through crisp and… maybe a bit rehearsed. It’s obvious he’s fumbling with the new text feature, so he’s just going to stick to talking right now.]

Our last few months on these islands have me thinking about a conversation I had a while ago with someone who is unfortunately no longer here. While I know we’ve learned quite a bit in the time some of us have been on this archipelago, very little of it is properly available to new arrivals and we risk the loss of this information when people unexpectedly disappear. In addition, seeing as people can simply vanish at any given time, it’s horribly difficult to figure out how many of us we have running around at all. When half of us were children recently enough we couldn’t have told you the information we had as adults, and if that had been permanent, we’d be, well, rather shit out of luck.

[He sighs, trying to collect himself in a way that isn’t just a frustrated ramble, which is also the technical point of this miniature speech.]

All of that is to say… we have a library with books and paper, and if our purpose here is to be telling a story, I feel we should start recording it. I’d like to invite people to come and write down what you’ve learned here, so we can keep a catalog to inform new arrivals and refresh ourselves before we repeat past mistakes. Anything is relevant and nothing is too small not to be marked, so please don’t be shy in thinking someone else has it covered. I’ll do my best to compile the information into something more organized once we have a fair number of responses. In addition, I’d like to keep some record of us as well- your name and where you live would suffice. If you’re all amenable, I would also like to suggest having point people or trusted contacts for each islet and lived area, so if a catastrophe occurs on our shores we’re able to quickly locate and assist anyone who may be in direct peril.

[There’s a slight pause, before he kind of awkwardly adds--]

I am simply hesitant due to previous conversations with them. If you would like to ask them if they would be alright speaking with me, I would be happy to oblige. I am simply trying to respect the boundaries they have set.]

[You know, that boundary they shattered and it almost got Chara killed, you know, that one. Haha ha. Ha.]

I am personally interested in information about the gods we have met. I have some of my own to contribute as well. But anything relevant to survival is helpful. I know someone has done a number of very detailed maps, for instance. If we could mark them with resources and leave them here as a reference piece, we won't forget where we can find unique food or shelter.

And that said, I actually know all of them.

Balance is the fish on Monsun, Bliss was the plant being we defeated on Ziziphus, Harvest was the dog on the farming world, Justice was Anbaki the bird, and Celebration is newly, uhm... well, something, but the bees. And of course, the Storyteller.

Were there not more? I was of the understanding that there was more time before my arrival.

(That isn't a personal judgement on you or your descriptive skills, by the way. This is just surprising.)

Was it just you all and the Storyteller before that? Were there other islands? When Monsun appeared, many told me it was the 'second time', but I don't remember there being a first.

If it helps for timeline, I appeared here not long before Ziziphus' arrival, so I remember everything with Bliss.

I have heard of Ai'tuoh. Is that the correct spelling? I think I may have dreamed it before my arrival. Something about the worship of a water god? I'm not sure I have all the details.

It sounds like it was not the traditional method of contacting a god. Unfortunate in trying to get any answers.

What did this water do, then? All I've heard is that people needed to be rescued from it. I believe it was quite recent before my arrival, so it was still quite fresh in everyone's minds, but unfortunately so were any horrors encountered. I fear this may have stopped the flow of information somewhat.

Why were there a lot of children? Was there a significance to that sort of sacrifice?

In addition, do you remember what any of their laws were? Anything I can record would be helpful.

because one of the rules was that you couldn't be too emotional
can't cry can't scream
can't do any of the things that little kids love to do
so yeah
a lot of it was kids

Thank you for the clarification. I'm having trouble seeing what these things would have in common, but at least that wasn't the objective in the end.

Why did they live like this? There must have been an objective to that if they were so willing to kill or exile anyone who broke a rule like "having pockets".

Not where they came from. The place sending them supply.

Alright. From the sound of it they may not remember that part of their history anyway, or it may not be accessible to them.
Whatever the case, even information like this is useful. Anything we can have to ensure someone new is not caught unawares is a help and moves towards us all moving cohesively into new challenges.

you making a newbie guide or something

I feel a guide might be too simple for the end goal of this project. Ultimately I'd like to create a reference tome, if you will. Something we and others can visit as soon as we hear of a new island coming, or if we happen to revisit a place we have gone before. We cannot promise that any of us will be here in the future, and the clues we are getting now are from the writings of these long-dead civilizations.

The written word, if we are lucky, will outlive us. It removes the pressure from those who experienced these traumatic places from having to relive them for the safety of others.

I would like to get along with them better, to be honest.
I think we share many of the same ideals, but... our methods seem to differ.

I do not think they like doing what they must for us, and I was hoping this would make it easier. But I don't know if it's successful. At the very least I think it will help us stuck here, so I'll keep going.

Regardless, thank you for the tip. This data I'm compiling is going here, of course, but I will keep a personal copy as well. Many of the originals also reside in other individual's hands.
If you wish to contribute anything else, feel free to make note of it and leave it at the library. I will catalog anything received as quickly as I'm able.
