[The new iStone clicks on, and with a quick clearing of his throat, Kravitz’ voice comes through crisp and… maybe a bit rehearsed. It’s obvious he’s fumbling with the new text feature, so he’s just going to stick to talking right now.]

Our last few months on these islands have me thinking about a conversation I had a while ago with someone who is unfortunately no longer here. While I know we’ve learned quite a bit in the time some of us have been on this archipelago, very little of it is properly available to new arrivals and we risk the loss of this information when people unexpectedly disappear. In addition, seeing as people can simply vanish at any given time, it’s horribly difficult to figure out how many of us we have running around at all. When half of us were children recently enough we couldn’t have told you the information we had as adults, and if that had been permanent, we’d be, well, rather shit out of luck.

[He sighs, trying to collect himself in a way that isn’t just a frustrated ramble, which is also the technical point of this miniature speech.]

All of that is to say… we have a library with books and paper, and if our purpose here is to be telling a story, I feel we should start recording it. I’d like to invite people to come and write down what you’ve learned here, so we can keep a catalog to inform new arrivals and refresh ourselves before we repeat past mistakes. Anything is relevant and nothing is too small not to be marked, so please don’t be shy in thinking someone else has it covered. I’ll do my best to compile the information into something more organized once we have a fair number of responses. In addition, I’d like to keep some record of us as well- your name and where you live would suffice. If you’re all amenable, I would also like to suggest having point people or trusted contacts for each islet and lived area, so if a catastrophe occurs on our shores we’re able to quickly locate and assist anyone who may be in direct peril.

[There’s a slight pause, before he kind of awkwardly adds--]

This is Kravitz, by the way. Uhm. You may have seen me… around. I’ll be down at the library today recording my own experiences. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I would be happy to be a point of contact, if necessary. I am...not unfamiliar with keeping track of large groups in a crisis.

I live on the third islet - the one to the southeast.

That sounds perfect. I can mark you down, uhm... I should probably determine what order people have been numbering them in. I was going from the mana pool clockwise, but I'm also not out there very much.

[Being one of the few people who actually still lives on Enso- and not even in the monkey compound- means he actually knows very little about the islets other than the farming one. Even better that someone else manages those efforts.]

You said southeast? Is that the one all the way that direction, or uhm... I suppose if we said north, west, southwest, southeast, and east?

That has always been confusing.

[They should really have a system for that. Maybe just name them, even.]

Ah, there are two mana pools on the islets. If you ask for the southern one, and walk east from there, the next islet is the one I mean.

Right, right. Yes, I know what you mean looking at a map.

[A moment of pause.]

Have we considered putting up signs? On each of the islands? Just to help orient people.

[He wonders why no one ever has? Maybe he should have done it - but then, he's not a king here, he doesn't need to be going around making decisions for others.

Although I suppose we should see what others are calling them, and perhaps come to a consensus.

[If anyone would let him, Kravitz would make decisions for everyone all the time. It's just cleaner when one person can do it, okay, give him the job. At least this seems to be a level of satisfying micromanagement for the time being.]

I suppose that is correct. Maybe the Storyteller knows their names? It would be good to use whatever terminology matches records we may find. Even if they have no opinion, we can put up a poll on each island for either names or numbers. Perhaps we should just offer counting either clockwise or counterclockwise from the northern mana pool? Don't want to give too many options.

[Oh yeah. Absolutely micromanagement.]

As long as we all had a common point of reference, that would work well enough. It is a shame they do not all have such distinguishing features as that large shell. [The One With The Shell is about the only one that's not confusing to refer to]

Perhaps we can give them some manner of landmark? That may be complicated, but a distinctive tree, or... oh, numbers are probably simpler.

[There are so many things to consider here! Now he's just getting himself overwhelmed.]

Landmarks can be destroyed anyway. If we get a unified number system, the collective consciousness of the masses will keep the organization put in place.

[Asgore has no faith in his own abilities or opinions, so of course he'll yield to whatever anyone else thinks.]

Would you prefer to explain it to everybody? [He genuinely doesn't mind doing it; public speaking is old habit. But Kravitz is the ideas guy here.]

I am good with either. I thought perhaps we make signs and then leave pieces of paper up on each one with a poll of, you know, do you consider this to be islet this or that, and see what everyone thinks. Then determine if clockwise or counterclockwise from the mana pool is the correct way to count.

[He sure does have a lot of ideas, for sure, though he doesn't seem to notice Asgore's hesitancy.]

I suppose it doesn't need to necessarily be a sign at all, just a post, or-- affixed to the bridges somehow? I'm unsure of how much scratch paper we have to spare for things like this. Then again, I could always request more...

We could always carve it into a piece of wood. There are plenty of those around, since Tim requested that woodworking shop.

Oh, that could be a good idea! Though how will we tally votes, maybe-- I don't know, is it safe to just leave a knife around? It's probably fine.

Sounds fantastic. I'm not particularly good at such a thing myself, but I would hope you have some ideas on that front?
