names of the seasons. it's just shorter to write.
[They chose to default to it when writing notes, making it easier to compact. Using symbols to communicate a message is also something the Guardian knows how to but they find words more easier as pictures can carry multiple meanings depending on how one chooses to use it.]

[They have a good memory so the shorthand they create is easy to remember. One just has to remember to not make it so complex they cannot understand what they wrote when they go back to it.]
