hey
i need someone who knows about plants. and vegetables. some dog came by and grew a bunch of stuff but i don't know what some of it is.
it's all the way over in that abandoned monkey base, though, so don't bother if it's a hassle. it'll probably all end up dead under my care anyway.
ps-
if anyone knows how to get dried blood out of clothes, i need that too.

Ah, it's you.
[He isn't offended so much as mildly surprised.]
Sure, if you know anything. Most of 'em are just vegetables. There's some other stuff the dog grew from seeds I found up on that shitty island, though.

[Ginko looks over the spread of plants, his ears flicking forward, before he crouches down at the edge of the patch to start examining some of what's growing there. He does look up at that, though, with a slight tilt of his head.] ...The dog?
no subject
The aforementioned dog herself has laid down a short distance away, in a rather cool patch of grass, snoozing away without a care. She put in a lot of work to tend the garden, and she's exhausted and in need of a rest. Her ink is also nearly spent, used up trying to grow everything from what she herself had initially planted, and the mancat's own tiny, nameless seeds.]

[He glances back at the dog, pointing at her by way of explanation.]
Yeah, the dog. She's magic or something. I dunno.

He follows where Ichimatsu is pointing, and... oh. As it happens, Ginko has always had very good vision, especially where the supernatural is concerned. Meaning that he can see, very plainly, what appears to be a flaming white wolf with some kind of mirror on her back.
His eyebrows raise slightly, and he replies,] It would appear so.
[Without elaborating on that any further, he turns back to the plants, and tries to... focus on that instead of worrying too much about the magic wolf-god lying not too far away.] Well, to start with, is there anything here you've already identified? Wouldn't want to go back over what you already knew.

[He throws an uncomfortable glance to the side, where the marijuana sits. He still... doesn't really... know what he's gonna do with that. Anyway.]
There's some stuff that looks like mint, but it smells more like catnip. Dunno what's up with that. [He jerks his thumb over his shoulder.] It's those flowers I can't figure out.
[Sure enough, a small patch of bright yellow sits near the fringes of the garden in various stages of budding and blooming.]
no subject
Well, that would make sense - catnip is a type of mint. And these... [He tilts his head and lifts one flower gently to get a better look at it.] ...This is St. John's Wort, I believe. Could be good to have around; it's supposed to have some useful effects.
no subject
Never heard of it. What's it do?
sorry for the wait!
[He could probably keep going, honestly, but he's paused for the moment, trying to see if he can remember any other relevant information. He's heard about this stuff being used for a lot, okay.]
np b <3
[Mood stabilizer for depression, huh.]
[Isn't that a freaking joy.]
[An impulse to grind his heel into the little herb out of spite overtakes him, but for once, he grits his teeth and doesn't act on it. Honestly, that's not gonna get him anywhere, and it's not... like it's the plant's fault for existing. He's the one who randomly found all the seeds. Besides, there's no reason for him to feel so expressly offended when there's a whole laundry list of uses for it other than that.]
[Yeah, it's fine.]
[He glances back to Ginko and asks, a little curtly:]
Fine. So how do you use it?
no subject
I believe the leaves are supposed to be used for mood problems. [Technically, he mostly saw capsules sold back in Ryslig, but their contents were apparently extracted from the leaves, so close enough.] Whereas I've heard of the flowers being soaked in oil to treat external injuries, or brewed in tea for internal issues - digestive problems, and so on.
no subject
[That's all he says, for a while, after listening in attentive silence to the run-down. Ichimatsu stares at the plant for a few moments longer before continuing.]
You know how to use it properly, right? Knock yourself out. Take as much of it as you want.

Yeah, really. What am I gonna do with it? Someone like me has no reason to hoard this kind of stuff. [he shrugs one shoulder.] I shouldn't be in charge of growing more, either, but I guess that's why the dog keeps coming around this way.
