hey

i need someone who knows about plants. and vegetables. some dog came by and grew a bunch of stuff but i don't know what some of it is.

it's all the way over in that abandoned monkey base, though, so don't bother if it's a hassle. it'll probably all end up dead under my care anyway.

ps-
if anyone knows how to get dried blood out of clothes, i need that too.

Yep. It's me.

[Ginko looks over the spread of plants, his ears flicking forward, before he crouches down at the edge of the patch to start examining some of what's growing there. He does look up at that, though, with a slight tilt of his head.] ...The dog?

[The spread really isn't as much of a spread as it is tiny shoots of green peeking out from the earth. Some plants are more developed than others, and it clearly shows when and where Ammy began to lose her mojo as she was blossoming up the various vegetables and herbs. Of course, one plant surely will stick out more than the rest, but the majority should appear as the basis of most common vegetables.

The aforementioned dog herself has laid down a short distance away, in a rather cool patch of grass, snoozing away without a care. She put in a lot of work to tend the garden, and she's exhausted and in need of a rest. Her ink is also nearly spent, used up trying to grow everything from what she herself had initially planted, and the mancat's own tiny, nameless seeds.]

[Well, you know, so long as he doesn't sit on the plants, that seems pretty legit to Ginko.

He follows where Ichimatsu is pointing, and... oh. As it happens, Ginko has always had very good vision, especially where the supernatural is concerned. Meaning that he can see, very plainly, what appears to be a flaming white wolf with some kind of mirror on her back.

His eyebrows raise slightly, and he replies,]
It would appear so.

[Without elaborating on that any further, he turns back to the plants, and tries to... focus on that instead of worrying too much about the magic wolf-god lying not too far away.] Well, to start with, is there anything here you've already identified? Wouldn't want to go back over what you already knew.

[Ginko raises an eyebrow as he follows Ichimatsu's brief glance at the marijuana. Okay, well, evidently he knows what that is. Then he turns back to look over the plants.]

Well, that would make sense - catnip is a type of mint. And these... [He tilts his head and lifts one flower gently to get a better look at it.] ...This is St. John's Wort, I believe. Could be good to have around; it's supposed to have some useful effects.

sorry for the wait!

Well, let's see... It's supposed to help with nausea and insomnia... it's a mood stabilizer, so it can help with depression - some also say you can apply it to burns, help with muscle pain, and so on. 'Course, I haven't done much testing with it myself, this is just based on research.

[He could probably keep going, honestly, but he's paused for the moment, trying to see if he can remember any other relevant information. He's heard about this stuff being used for a lot, okay.]
onegreeneye: ([troll]here take this packet of leaves)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2018-03-25 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[That looks like some kind of a reaction. But Ginko can't quite pinpoint what, so trying to guess strikes him as unwise.]

I believe the leaves are supposed to be used for mood problems. [Technically, he mostly saw capsules sold back in Ryslig, but their contents were apparently extracted from the leaves, so close enough.] Whereas I've heard of the flowers being soaked in oil to treat external injuries, or brewed in tea for internal issues - digestive problems, and so on.
onegreeneye: that makes more sense (oh okay)

...Really? [He looks at the plant, his mouth twisting thoughtfully.] I'd certainly appreciate that - but remember to let me know if you need to know anything about how to take care of it. This kind of thing will do more good for everyone if it can keep growing.

["Someone like him", huh. That sets off a couple alarms. Just, quiet ones.] I'd say just about anyone could find a reason to keep this around, actually. Especially here.
