Multiple corpses of entities from our universe of origin have been deposited on the shores of Enso. They are commonly referred to as Thresher Maws.

They are exceedingly large, difficult to kill, and typically only a few are likely to be found living simultaneously on a planet: we are uncertain as to how this occurrence is possible.

...anything we can salvage from them, do you think?

Affirmative.

(They chatter.)

Though they are rotting, it is possible their armored exoskeletons may be of use.

(More importantly.)

Washington-agent, Thresher Maws are capable of surviving environments uninhabitable by other organic life, and are difficult to combat even when armed with tanks, missiles, gunships, similarly powerful equipment and weaponry. We are uncertain what could be capable of this.

A god, maybe? Or a dragon? We know those exist here.

[They're dead, which is the important thing.]

How would you kill them?

(They chatter, considering this.)

Use of remotely operated vehicles to lure it above ground followed by bombardment with explosives from a distance has the lowest risk and highest likeliness of success. Environmental damage is likely to be high.

Shepard-Commander has assisted in killing one on foot, though this was extremely difficult, and should not be taken as an indicator of possible success.

(Shepard-Commander, regardless of their opinion of her otherwise, is basically the most badass human to ever live. Attempting to emulate her is unwise.)

How'd she kill it on foot?

[Sorry, but without any remote-operated vehicles here and not very much in the way of explosives, "on foot" seems to be the only way to reliably get that done.]

Assistance of multiple allies. Advanced weaponry. Use of environmental advantages to avoid both ranged and melee attacks.

Additionally, it is likely luck also played a factor.

I'm just putting it out there that if we end up having to take down these things, we're going to need a plan, and we don't exactly have a ton of advanced weaponry here.

Shepard-Commander once killed an old machine via luring a Thresher Maw to attack it. It is possible a similar technique could work in this circumstance: two Thresher Maws could be goaded into attacking each other.

Would that be possible without destroying the island?

It is likely that any method will result in considerable destruction.

(Thresher Maws are just straight up bad news.)

Great. So, if we see these things, we try and get them sompleace that...doesn't have any important shit on it, is what I'm hearing.

Yes. It is possible they could be lured, though it would require someone acting as bait.

Such a task would be exceedingly dangerous.

More dangerous than fighting a dragon the size of an island? What here isn't?

I'm just saying that if you're worried about it, we should maybe think of a plan of what we do if it comes to that.

Such a plan would have the highest chance of success if shared between multiple warriors, to ensure there are always enough to enact it. Possible spots for luring Thresher Maws: Umui, Nastrandir. Also recommend strategies for ensuring safety of non combatants.

Nastrandir would be best, probably. It's already a wreck anyway.

Get Tex and Carolina in on it, definitely. They're good with that kind of thing. I guess if you put up an announcement and maybe potential places to go to evacuate, that might work.
