alright 2 things

1. i got 30 flare guns. each has 4 rounds with 2 colors: red and blue. blue is if you need help. red is to tell everyone to clear out cause of serious danger. i'm at the storyteller's temple if you need one. don't need to trade anything but like i said i only have 30 so if you travel in a group and keep together you should just have 1 between you all. if you run out of flares you gotta ask ST for more.

2. who here knows how to fight. just putting it out there it might be good to have some people we all know can handle themselves if someone needs help. guard task force security group call it whatever you want itd just be damn handy to know who to ask for in a fight

Monster food. Since it's made with magic, it heals when eaten and it doesn't spoil. I can only make so much at a time, but I've been saving as much as I can in case someone needs additional healing.

It varies depending on a number of factors, like the amount and quality of the ingredients I have to work with or how much time and effort I put into making it. At minimum, even the poorest-quality should keep someone from dying outright, although they'll still be in very bad condition. The best can restore them to perfect health.

Beyond healing, including additional effects like temporarily increased strength or speed is also possible, but it takes more effort.

if i started making a sort of supply/storage area would you wanna chip in with that

I would be happy to. I had actually been considering attempting to set up a series of supply caches at various points around the island, for people to use in emergencies, before I was distracted by recent events.

That was rather where I was having trouble, yes. Ideally we'd want something hard enough to keep out the wildlife but still easy enough for people to get to in the middle of an emergency.

[Muffet pauses at the rock after reading his message, about to write a reply, and then realizes it would probably be faster to just wait by the rock until he comes by again.]

[Really, given how quickly they've been answering each other it's kind of surprising that they haven't run into each other there already- she's just been scribbling out a reply every time she passes by on her way to or from the mana pool, since as usual she's been all over the place running various errands today.]

[He's mostly been hanging around the Storyteller's temple, but the rock isn't far off. People come and go so irregularly that it's easier to stop by every couple hours and answer everyone's queries all at once. Eventually, someone's bound to catch him waiting around, or the other way around.]

[He's stubbing his latest cigarette out when he runs into her properly.]

Don't like writing stuff on something permanent unless it's an announcement, I guess.

Permanent seems like a bit of an overstatement, given that it's chalk, but I take your point.

Just don't like the idea of people looking up whatever I might've said to so-and-so, unless it's important.

[Muffet makes a polite 'after you' gesture and falls into step beside Tim as they head for the lake.]

I suppose. Though couldn't you simply wipe it off, seeing as it's chalk? Honestly, I'm surprised it lasts as long as it does without smearing already.

I could, but then there's no guarantee that the one person I wanted to see it actually did.

[It's easier to just walk up and tell the person directly instead of waiting around hoping that they'll be the only person to read what he needs saying to them.]

Did you need a gun, or are you set?

Fair enough.

As for the flare guns, I can do something similar by just tossing out some magic and aiming directly up. It doesn't allow for the useful color-coding you mentioned, but since we don't have an unlimited supply I thought it better to leave them for people who didn't have even that option.

[Honestly, given how her bullets are shaped... If people see a bunch of spiders and baked goods, they're probably going to be able to guess whose magic that is. So at least they'll be able to tell it's her?]

[So she's set. They're fortunate that enough magic-users are capable of signalling in a way that'll be recognizable to others.]

Makes sense. 'Specially with that whole...mess with the sun, I think it's good if we have something that we know's gonna show up in the dark. [Stuff travels by word of mouth here. And fast.]

Quite. Your decision to begin stockpiling food is timely, seeing as I'm not sure how well crops will be growing for the duration.

[She was already making sure to build up a good supply of food before she heard about the whole 'week of total darkness' thing, but that made it an even higher priority.]

Speaking of which, how are you doing on warm clothing at the moment? I've been warned it's going to be rather cold while we're without sunlight, so I've been weaving a few things that might be better suited to the chill.

Right now, I've got enough flammable shit to keep me going.

[So...no jackets, or much of anything. He lost his blanket tearing it up for other people's injuries. But they've got an abundance of lumber and he's got an abundance of ways to set that wood alight, so he should be set. Light and heat might make a good barricade, to be sure.]

I'm not sure that's necessarily the best way to keep warm, but I suppose it's better than nothing. Do at least feel free to send anyone who you find needs some warm clothing my way. A scarf or two is hardly that much time out of my day, and I'd rather not lose anyone to frostbite.

I'll, uh...I'll pass it around.

[Like a grown man who makes positive personal choices, he's already considering other people he wants to end up handing scarves to. He knows of at least two children who might need them and wouldn't think to ask for them for their own selves, and potentially a third and fourth.]

I'm pretty sure we're all gonna be moving around enough to keep our blood warm, anyway. [That's excluding people who don't have blood, Tim. Bad.]

True enough, but from what I hear it's expected to last about a week, isn't it? I assume we're all going to have to sleep at some point.

Yeah, well. Sleep is overrated anyway.

I may not know much about human biology beyond what you can and can't eat, dearie, but I'm fairly certain if you try to go seven full days without any sleep you'll die.
