[He speaks in a calm, even voice, perfectly casual. No one can ever truly get used to losing good friends, it will always hurt, it's always too soon to say goodbye... but it's happened countless times to him, because that's simply the way it is when one is being forgotten by both the living and the dead. He's one of them, los Olvidados. They all swallow their pain, they bury it deep and they carry on, remembering those they've lost as long as they can.
And he is very, very accustomed to living with the pain. What he enjoys and what he wants has nothing to do with it. He's not the only one dealing with it.]
Muffet's also gone. I know she did a lot of the baking, especially for the Denny. I'm not so bad at that myself and I like it, so it's no problem for me to carry on with it. It's just, ah...
[Here comes the shameful part.] I literally have no muscles, I'm not so good at carrying things you probably wouldn't think are heavy. If anyone doesn't mind helping out part of the time, I'd appreciate it.
And there's something of hers I'd like to put up in the Storyteller's temple too, I think they'd like to have it.
[Seems that's all. He doesn't say any more...]

[Asgore never got to know Muffet all that well, for all that she was the only other monster on the islands. He suspects she never liked him very much - understandable, for a monster who came to know humans as more than some faceless, distant enemy.]
Please feel free to call me if you need help. I am not the best baker, but I am sure I could assist.
no subject
[Teaching is likely to happen whether Asgore likes it or not, honestly!]
It might be a good idea, you never know when another monster might show up. Monsters can only eat food other monsters make, right?
no subject
Well, that is not quite true. We can eat human food! We simply do not absorb it all immediately, as we would with monster food, so I imagine many monsters would prefer not to.
[He's trying to say that it makes them shit and that's weird when you've never done it before]
no subject
[Ew ew ew, how about they don't go there.]
Nevermind then. I just assumed you guys couldn't, I can't. It all falls right through my ribcage if I try.

[Muffet. They'd known her ever since they arrived here. Even...before then.]
[It doesn't feel right that they should outlast her. They're the one who's sick, who's dying.]
CAN USE LIVESTOCK?

Yours if you want them, so long as no one turns them into dinner.

Too many good friends are gone. Too many missed chances to say goodbye.]
If you need a hand l-l-liftin' stuff, I'm yer gal. These s-s-skinny arms pack a r-real punch.
no subject
Hah, I bet they do! Shame mine don't. Did I tell you that I knew someone who replaced his femur with a metal pipe? I don't know what the trick is, when I tried I couldn't get it to stick. Too heavy.
[Funny. That old grump is gone too. (Not funny in the slightest.)]
no subject
What if we wrap ya up in tape an' make it stick? Or maybe I just need t' kick yer butt int' shape. Or make ya drink a bunch'a milk!
no subject
No, can't do that, then I won't be able to bend at the knees. I do have duct tape to spare though! Maybe we can tape you up.
Bah, milk. I'd rather have ice cream. I miss it.

I'll help with that. The carrying thing.
[A pause and then-]
She was wonderful. We'd been friends since we first washed up here years ago. I don't know much about your friendship with her, but she will be dearly missed. Hopefully she is home now and on the Surface.
no subject
Did you want any of her things? I think she'd rather nothing go to waste.
['Too soon', some might say, but... it's what the Olvidados do. Everything is shared, because they don't have much and they don't last long. There will always be newcomers who need things of their own.]
no subject
If there's nothing specifically slated for anyone, yeah. I can take something.
[She understands it. The island has so few resources and so few people who have access to them.]
...Are you all right?
no subject
I'm used to this kind of thing. As much as anyone can be.

[And of course he's going to studiously ignore the part about something for the local god...]
...you okay?
no subject
We should probably move a lot of her supplies to the Denny. Start keeping it all in one place, somewhere more central than out on the little islands...

Not the best cook either but I can learn and help or make tools to make it easier. But what it is that you want to go up in the temple?
no subject
[Hell, he doesn't even remember what it was like to be strong and energetic. Really full of energy, not just playful and silly. Those were the days...]
Woven stories. So many of them. Almost everyone's in at least one.
no subject
I'll go with you to ask Storyteller for permission to put it up. That's something I can't see an issue with but its their temple. They need to give their okay.
...Muffet did a lot all the time, it's true. I'll take a look at her set up. If it needs moved, I'll help move it.

I can carry some stuff over too if you want. You might wanna count me out of the cooking though. [A small chuckle, trying to cheer the guy up.] But carrying I can do. And uh.....whatever else you might need, okay, buddy? [In case his friend is really hurting.]
no subject
I don't think so. It's really only the heavy lifting I've got trouble with.
