Feel free to use this post as an event catch-all for any misfires, island-wide broadcasts, or glitching Stone shenanigans you'd like your characters to get up to! Remember that the Stones of Farspeech do not currently have a texting feature...but that doesn't mean the screen they use to display Caller I.D. can't display text, on occasion. Bear in mind that this screen is small and therefore has limited display options.

I just want to do this properly. [Yukio says, so quietly it might be hard to hear because as soon as he says it, while he says it he knows it's a mistake.]

I mean I... [he what?] I don't know what I'm doing, but I don't want to mess this up.

[Actually, as he speaks, Ginko smiles - just slightly, a slow shift in his expression. It is, in a way, kind of reassuring that he's not the only one nervous about doing this right.

If he's not the person who's the most lost here, maybe he can be of some help.]

Neither do I. But the best way to figure it out will probably be to keep trying to address it, right?

[Ginko doesn't brush him off. That's unexpected, that gets Yukio looking up at the man with an expression that doesn't manage to completely hide his surprise.

How many times has he pressed for answers and just been brushed off? This is... abnormal.]

If you're all right with that.

[But then he... doesn't have anything to say. He's never gotten to this point before ]

I am. [This... might work. So far, it's going a hell of a lot better than his low expectations had accounted for.

So he might as well say what's come to mind.]

I do want you to know that I'm glad I knew the other “you” - and, if you’re alright with it, I’d like to know this one. If I think of anything else you might want to know, it only follows that I'll want to tell you.

I... would like to get to know you as well. [Yukio admits, quietly.]

I don't know what you might like to know, but if you have any questions, I am willing to try and answer them.

[That pinprick of hope hadn't quite settled yet - and it doesn't until Yukio says that. Ginko is just glad that he can at least still control his expression enough not to blatantly give away what a relief it is, because that would be embarrassing.]

I'll... let you know if I think of anything. [He's still not totally sure how much he wants to know about... this other him, this other world Yukio was in. But maybe that will change eventually.]

In the meantime, I'm just... glad we ended up talking about this at all.

[Not that he thinks he should have gone to Yukio about it sooner, nor is he glad for the stones being busted. Just because something worked out doesn't make everything about it good.]

[Yukio doesn't say "I'm glad" because he isn't. It's been a rough conversation, it's something he didn't want to talk about, it's heavy and bitter and just generally unwelcome.]

It was important that we talk about it. Thank you for your time. [And he stands. He's ready for this whole thing (stones included) to just be over.]

[If Ginko didn't know Yukio so well - a Yukio, anyway, even if he's just getting to know this one - he might not notice that choice of words. He might not be the most socially competent guy around, but he's good with... some details. Like how precise Yukio tends to be with his words.

Well. It does make a lot of sense that Yukio wouldn't be thrilled with this whole, agonizingly awkward situation. Maybe he shouldn't have said he was.

The nice thing, he guesses, about this Yukio not knowing him as well is that maybe he won't notice the pause before Ginko responds, or the way his expression catches as he keeps it from changing too much.]
