Feel free to use this post as an event catch-all for any misfires, island-wide broadcasts, or glitching Stone shenanigans you'd like your characters to get up to! Remember that the Stones of Farspeech do not currently have a texting feature...but that doesn't mean the screen they use to display Caller I.D. can't display text, on occasion. Bear in mind that this screen is small and therefore has limited display options.

It's alr-- [The stone crackles, cutting off what might have been the beginning of a reply - or just another fragmented memory. The static subsides into a woman's voice, low and gentle and firm.]

--the other eye tightly, so that you'll see the sunlight again.

[More crackling, more static, before Ginko's voice comes through again.] --ong time ago.

[His voice cuts out for a second, and then comes back. He sounds angry, desperate--the very same Héctor who said nothing about his broken bones or being buried alive.]

Look at me, Miguel! I'm being forgotten. I don't even know if I'm going to last the night! I'm not going to miss my one chance to cross that bridge because you want to live out some stupid musical fantasy! I'm taking you to your family!

[onegreeneye]

[Another buzz and crackle, and the woman's voice returns.] --be able to remember anything from the time--

[It cuts out, and the voice is replaced with Ginko's again.] --tor? Are you okay?

[vagabone]

[Damn, did it spew out something of his again? Cool. Fine. This is fine.]

Yeah. I'm fine. How about we agree to ignore everything the stupid broken rocks say, alright?

[onegreeneye]

[Ginko manages a short, weak bark of a laugh.]

Sounds like a plan, if we can tell what's them and what's us.

[He hesitates, then--] What... did it say on your end?

[vagabone]

Easy. Whatever seems to come out of nowhere.

[Or in his case, actually sound more upset than 'a slight case of the blues'. Meh. Personal, private things (songs) being broadcasted for the whole world to hear? Been there, done that.]

It didn't say much. Something about a place where the sun doesn't rise. [Relatively tame?]

...Alright. That's, uh... not too bad. [He snorts softly.] Let me know if you've got any questions, I guess.

[vagabone]

Not really. It just sounds like a strange place. And that wouldn't be ign--

[Oh no here it goes again.]

These people are all your family?

Ehh, in a way. We're all the ones with no photos or ofrendas, no family to go home to. Nearly forgotten, you know? So we all call each other cousin or tío or--or whatever.

[onegreeneye]

[Ah shit, that sounds like another out-of-nowhere bit.]

['When will it be over' is a pretty common mood on Enso, huh.]

I'd rather have the screaming.

Don't tell Ed I said this, but-- [Aaaand another crackle, but-- something kind of new this time. Ginko's voice is still recognizably his, but distorted, as if it's been cut up and pieced together.] --it was better than having my damn life on display.

[vagabone]

I'm with you--

[Pissy, pissy skeleman.] Whatever happened to charity?

--on that. Life. Afterlife. You know what I mean. [It's not his life that's the problem!]

[onegreeneye]

--Huh? [Ginko, not having heard how the Stone changed his words, traces that over again in his mind.] Could you-- walk that back for me? With me on what?

[vagabone]

I mean I don't want my whole life put out there.

[onegreeneye]

Ah, right, of course. [He feels like he must have missed something, even if he's not sure what.] Me neither-- I can't risk losing people's trust like that.

[vagabone]

You--gah. [It's not distortion, like something messing with a phone line. Ginko wouldn't say that.] It's getting trickier.

[onegreeneye]

What? [Oh no.] What's it doing now?

...Should we even be using these?

[vagabone]

How am I supposed to get around on a broken leg?!

[Blares Héctor's voice, and then, somewhat less agitated:] --make everyone else stop too.

[onegreeneye]

[He'll just... make his best guess about what that was supposed to be.] Two fewer people would be something, at least.

...But, you're right, probably not enough. Think we could convince them?

How is that going to work if no one can hear us?

[onegreeneye]

Guess we could always walk around and tell people in person.

[No, he is not actually recommending that. Unfortunately it can be hard to tell if Ginko is joking, so, uh, he'd better hope Hector can tell his normal deadpan tone from his insincere deadpan.]
