You're lucky there's no money system around here, or I'd be charging three septims per message you write on this thing. So, hey. Don't waste the chalk. I paid for that out of the kindness of my cold, scaly heart, and I don't take well to my rare acts of charity being wasted. Don't vandalize the board, either. I'll know, and I'll vandalize you.

Drawing pictures is okay, though. I'm not assuming that everyone here knows how to read, if it's at all like Skyrim.

[Honestly, she can't blame Severs-the-Threads for her views on this, she really misses money too. It's good that things are more or less working out with the barter system, of course, but the fact remains that the closest thing this island has to capitalism is Taako and she kind of misses her business.]

Much obliged. I've got a monthly stock set up, but we'll see if this is actually enough to last a month.

You're totally free to request a personalized colour of chalk with them, though. Sky's the limit, so on and so forth.

I'm a naturalist, but I learned how to sketch and paint as a girl. It was considered suitably ladylike.

Oh, clever! You might have to explain one or two little concepts to me, though. "Naturalist," first of all, and "being ladylike," second.

A naturalist is someone who studies nature: animals, plants, rocks and so on.

Being ladylike is learning the set of behaviors required to participate in your society when you are a woman. And the set of behaviors you cannot do and still participate in society. The latter list is rather longer.

I was mostly being facetious about the ladylike thing. See, I come from Skyrim. We mostly define "ladylike" in terms of "number of wolves slain" and "how much mead you can down in one night."

It is a very culturally-specific thing. But is that 'ladylike' or just something everyone does, including the ladies?

Maybe it would be better to define it as Nordlike. We didn't slay a lot of wolves back in Black Marsh.

Though if you ask me, I'm kind of hoping the Nord version of "ladylike" is what this particular place's culture settles on, too. I can't imagine trying to traipse around in Imperial petticoats in this climate.

I wouldn't recommend it, no. About the first thing I did was get something resembling what I wear in the field, rather than when in my home country.

I mean no offense with the "dryskin" thing. I'm sure your mammalian hairiness is minimal and you take plenty of care to soak. My folk just struggle a bit for a catch-all term for the not-so-aquatic races.

(Sometimes we use milk-sucker, but you all get really weird when we talk about that whole bodily-fluid-drinking thing you do)
