Hey there, islands. Happy new year and all that, if that even matters. I mean, the holidays don't seem to matter here but there's a calendar so...?

Anyways, this isn't about that! Recently I put in a request with the good ol' Storyteller because I was reminded of something from back home and thought, with all the crazy things that happen here, something that's a little more chill and lowkey might be good?

It's this, uh, game? Called Monsters & Mana. It's a little hard to explain and it's super nerdy, but it's pretty fun! You roll dice and pretend to be a character and go on an adventure the Lore Master puts together for you.

I've got a lot of books for it and everything we'd need to play it, but I don't want to just keep it to myself? So if anyone wants to take a look at it or play it just hit me up!

[Honestly, Kravitz ends up responding to this not because he's invested, but just because it's rare he finds something he has absolutely no idea about that has a ton of people chattering around. It's like pizza. He has to just-- know things.]

So what are the characters, then? Is it like writing a book?

Sure, Lance asked for the stuff, but he's no turbo nerd expert.]

It's more like...improvisational chatting? You make the character and you decide what you're gonna do, but the outcome is decided by the dice rolls.

Oh-- oh we make the characters. They're not established from popular fiction? Hm.

[He doesn't really grasp how you can just make one of those, and it's probably to his own benefit that Lance can't see the travels his face is taking as he tries to figure that out.]

Huh. So you create something, and then you and others talk about what they're doing? Where do the dice come in? You can't just do things?

[But he doesn't waaaaaant to.]

You could probably base one off something if you wanted to, but generally it's just, you know, whatever you want to do.

[Lance is trying his best. He's trying so hard.]

You can do whatever you want to do, but it's not a guarantee it'll work, you know? So you roll to see how could you do something, and depending on if you do it well or do it poorly stuff happens.

So it's... a game of chance?

[He sounds a little too excited at the prospect of this.]

Well. If it's a gamble, I'm fantastic at those games. Count me in.

[He's just glad people actually seem interested in this, so it wasn't a complete waste of stories.]
