Infirmary is a go!

Looking for:
- Anyone willing to do runs for possible medical supplies or things that can be made into supplies
- Someone who can follow instructions and wouldn't mind occasionally playing nurse

No worries about who is running this. I am a trained medic and coroner, though limited in what I can do surgical wise. No, the infirmary isn't 24/7, because sleep is needed. Will make house calls if needed but would prefer if the patient is brought to the infirmary due to environmental and sterility concerns.

I can probably help with both those? My brother Shion will probably be there a lot anyways. He's really good at this kind of thing. I've got some healing magic too.

I'll see myself how good he is because I'm trained in traditional, modern, and alien medicine.

Healing magic is neat and all but I find it very limited in the scope it can be used in. That to me is more of an aftercare and superficial/possible deep wound treatments, not for things like anaphylactic shock and heart attacks.

He's kept me from dying more than once. Including one time when I lost two of my fingers and it was night, so we couldn't go down to the infirmary.

He may have kept you from dying, but it is my infirmary, so my rules apply. Abilities must be vetted to see where he can be placed for maximum use and efficiency. I'm not going to take just anyone who claims they have medical experience without first checking to see if they can back up their claims.

It's like hiring someone who claims they are an architect right off the street without checking if they are and then having the building collapse and kill you because the person didn't know what they were doing.

Not to mention Nari could leave at any time, just like in the Tower. What would happen to her infirmary then? You always needed to have backup plans. ]

He can come by anytime between 7am and 6pm.

I do need help, but you'll have to come by the infirmary so I can give you a detailed list along with sketches as to what I need and what I know some of these islands have. The only thing I have for payment is pigeon eggs and the ability to grow plants no matter what the weather.

Why not? It'll give some of the residents the peace of mind that there is someone here who can handle emergencies that healing magic can't. There's limits to everything, including magic.

I will worry about payment because gathering supplies runs a risk and will wear on your condition. I don't know what kind of place you come from, but I'm from a world where nothing comes for free. Even volunteers expect something in return.

well if people are injured physical condition is gonna be the first thing they'll have to worry about
just trying to figure out if the cost of putting one near it is worth it

That's why I'm offering house calls. If they really can't make it to me, I can make it to them. I do have a medical pack I came here with that has everything I need for that.

You say that like it's not going to be a big help for everybody, there being an infirmary with good supplies and people, to help us if we're hurt or sick.

Where I came from before this, my dad would get food for those who weren't as good at hunting monsters. I'd make clothes and guard things. So that people who couldn't do those things could focus on something more important.

[ Namely finding a way out of a dying tower and out under the thumb of people controlling them. The situation isn't exactly the same but. Community resources. She knows their value all too well. ]

I'll look at what we have and if we need anything. But I'm already getting something out of this, if that's what you're worried about.

That's how things work in a perfect world.

This place is far from perfect, but I guess it's nice to see someone hoping others are as charitable as you are.

I, in the meantime, will keep eggs around at least in case someone does want to be paid.
