On the 15nth - Stones of Farspeech

[Around noonish, a simple message would come over the stones. There was no method for a group-chat or anything, so he just sent a general message.]

Hey, Gladio. Iggy. Where are you guys?

[And that was it. It would be silent for a while. He attempted to send a few individual messages, but as he got no response he became increasingly worried. Gladio might ignore something for a bit - after all, that was part of why Iris started to called Noct instead of Gladio. But Iggy wouldn't ignore him.

Trying not to sound alarmed because they were probably fine somewhere and just caught up in something, he spoke over the stones again after about an hour.]

Has anyone seen Gladio or Iggy?

No. That wouldn't be so weird for the big guy, but Iggy wouldn't leave me hanging.

[He was right, and Ardyn hated that he halfway cared.]

Where was it you last saw them?

Saw? They've been gardening for a few days. Umm... It should've been done yesterday? I thought they'd be back by now.

[A sigh.]

I'll go find them. Get over here and look after Hresvelgr until I get back.

[Trusting Ardyn to go find them. That wasn't a pleasant thought, but he wasn't sure what else he could do now.]

You should bring her over here. She can hang out with all the others.

...Fine. I’ll be over with her shortly.

[It'd be a bit later. He waited outside anxiously, and didn't expect a long meeting, but he'd be glad to see Fressy again, at least.]

[Sure enough, Ardyn showed up with a near-adult black chocobo in tow, who clicked her beak and craned her neck to nuzzle at Prompto’s hair.]

I’ll do us both the courtesy of making this short. Keep an eye on her until I get back, and if you’ve not heard from me in...call it three days, feel free to assume the worst and wait for one or all of us to cheat death as per usual for this place.

There's a pretty girl.

[He readily reached out to stroke her feathers, doing his best to keep his voice steady because he wasn't worried, nope, not at all.]

They should be okay. They were together. [He grimaced for a second. If anything was going to happen to any of them, they most would've probably guessed it'd be him.] ...Be careful.

The whole reason I’m going and not you is that I’m much harder to kill. Well, that and the fact that I don’t sleep. In short, do spare me your concern.

I'm not easy to kill!

[Come on, he was tough.]

I was just worried about what to do with all the chicks and everything. I was watching them while the guys were out.

Compared to someone who can regenerate, you certainly are. Calm down and just keep them from running off, I’ll return provided nothing manages to actually kill me.

[He wanted to argue more about how he was a lot tougher than he looked and it had nothing to do with Ardyn being stronger, but they didn't have time for that.]

She'll be fine. I don't know if she's met the new chicks yet, so I can introduce them.

I know better than to think a chocobo wouldn't be in fair hands around here.

[He turned to the bird in question, petting her and speaking in an arcane undertone as she stretched her neck to bonk against her owner's forehead.]

...I'll find him. And the idiot behemoth's sure not to be far off when I do.

[Was that something akin to a compliment? It nearly took him off guard.]

Yeah. [He answered, almost breathless. He was doing his best not to give away how worried he was, and he was doing a poor job of that.] And give them an earful for not responding when you do.

[He opened up the door to lead her inside. She could stay in their makeshift indoor stable with the others for a bit while they sorted things out.]

..... aren't they with you?

No, they were doing some gardening or something for Harv. I thought they would've been back by now.

They're not at their garden?

.... that's odd. Nuidan isn't a particularly dangerous island.

[He couldn't imagine anything capable of taking Gladio and Ignis down, not with what he's seen of Nuidan so far.]

I haven't seen any danger there, but, I still can't help but feel suspicious. Seems like something's always out to get us.

They're together so they should be okay, but Iggy wouldn't usually wait to reply.

I'd agree.

[Now is about time for Trouble, anyway. But he doesn't know of any trouble on Nuidan- and events have always hit all of them at once, in a way that made it impossible to ignore. /But/ even if some instincts point that way, he doubts the two of them can be taken down by run-of-the-mill fauna.

Really, the only thing suspicious that's happened has been-]

........ they have their- companions, right? Those who appeared a few days ago?

Yeah. Iris and Noct, apparently.

Even though Noct is with me.

[It was strange for Ignis to also see a Noct.]

[It's mildly surprising that one of names is unfamiliar. He'd expected that all three of them would be jumping off cliffs for Noctis Lucis Caelum.]

Perhaps- [He needs his attention for this part. To get it out.] -those people encouraged your friends into something they couldn't handle. My brother has been-

-something like that.

[Prompto had been lucky. Due to concerns and chastising of others, he hadn't been doing that much that would get him in trouble. If anything, he'd spent the majority of the time near home, where plenty of people could have seen him if he got into trouble.

It had made it difficult for Noct to put him in much danger.]

What? Why would they do that? I mean, Iris is Gladio's sister, she would never let him get hurt. And Noct is Noct.

He's not angry at you for leaving him behind? Whiling your time away here?

Noct? Noct's here. But, like, the normal Noct. Iggy said he's seeing a little kid.

[Which, Prompto knew what Noct looked like then, but he hadn't gotten involved with him until later.]

He's kind of upset we aren't doing more, but people have been worried about me going out so I thought it'd be easy to hang around for a bit.

[He exhales, impatiently. As much as he prefers his neighbours all alive, he doesn’t have time to hear all about the Chocobro situation this week.]

Where were they last seen? I’ll do a circuit around the areas you didn’t look.

They were gardening over on Nuidan. That's all I really know...

[He hadn't been worried, because it was Iggy and Gladio together.]

Where on Nuidan?

[Nuidan’s large enough that it would take days for him to search- unless he was lucky, there would be no point. Someone should tell him Ardyn’s already gone so he doesn’t intrude on that.]

I think it was north near the coast somewhere... I don't know the exact spot.

Ardyn said he was going to look, too.

[Ah. Someone's already looking- he thinks about it and concludes that there's little he could do that Ardyn couldn't.]

Hm. I think he has it handled.

Put out another call if they're still missing?

I will.

[This was too important to worry about any tension.]
