No. I asked because I was thinking about it. You're the one to ask about me. You could have talked about yourself instead. Lots of people celebrate differently. I know in America people have big parties and celebrations.

Why would I expect people to? I don't have that kind of self inflated ego to think that would be expected, or be upset that it was lacking. If I wanted to celebrate I would do it myself. This was a question about other people's thoughts and feelings. We are a collection of many people from many places, why not learn about each other?

Oh I understood that. However, the issue with mocking me that way is that none of that is how I feel. You can't make me upset. Only frustrated for completely different reasons.

Also, those who tend to mock such things are those who feel the most strongly of it.

If they picked a day, then that day is all that matters. It might even be more important than if you did know the random time you became alive.

[It felt like it had more meaning at least, and wasn't generic like just counting with the turn of the year. Not that new years wasn't a perfectly good birthday....]

That is very true. It makes you wonder why so many people make a fuss about it.

who knows? maybe they think they're that important. or just want a day where they can feel like they are without feeling guilty.

everyone grows up thinking they're special for some reason. when you're older, though, you realize that you're not any better than everyone else. that's why it's fine if kids get excited about birthdays, but adults getting worked up over it is kind of sad.

If you think about it, it makes sense to be worked up though. It's a reminder that every year we are another step closer to death.

I don't mind them. I don't always get to celebrate them, but I try when I can.
