[The mechanical voice to stutter over the network is riddled with clicks and whirrrrs as the unseen automaton inspects her new device curiously. There's the briefest huff of steam hissing as it spills from her crooked mouth, but then she's continuing.]

Th'Spine? Is this some k-kinda joke, big guy? [Her voice drops down for an impossibly low and robotic HA. HA. before returning to normal.] I thought humor had been left outta yer programmin' co-completely. Pappy had to m-make room for that s-shinin' stick-in-da-mud personality of yers, didn't he?

...Spine? [Nope, if her brother were here, that would have gotten a response out of him for sure. Rabbit lets out an irritated huff at that realization.] Th' backbone on that guy...

Okay, so if it ain't you on th' other end of this t-t-telefone conversation, then just who is?

[One day, perhaps, full grown and still completely traumatized.]

Howdy! My-my-my-my-my-my-MY- [There's the loud clang of the robot smacking herself in the head to get her voice box out of its loop before Rabbit can finally complete her sentence.] -My name's Rabbit.

[catpiper]

[The looped 'My-my-my-my' is worrying. Troubling. She had been used to her vocal quirks in the dream, but it's a whole new world to have that happen in reality. It makes her think there's an injury she can't see.]

Rabbit? Not Dragon? You're that kind of animal? Are you a god?

[She has so many qs.]

[Unseen injury or not, the robot on the other end of the line doesn't seem particularly worried. Not even worth addressing.]

I m-m-may be part dragon, but my name's s-still-still Rabbit. I'm a robut!

[catpiper]

[Incredible-a dragon, rabbit, robot hybrid. That's wild? So wild.]

You're very special. Tunamelt will be happy with you. [There's a pause, and-] We should make more ashes for him.

[Might as well start to prep a reserve of ashes for their little niece. She's a growing girl!]

S-say! Ya haven't seen lil' TunaMelt 'round, have ya? I ain't seen her since then.

[catpiper]

No, she went away after the dream, but it's okay. She'll come back. She just has to find this place, like you did.

[ONE DAY.]

[Unseen on the other end of the connection, Rabbit blinks so hard the sound of her eyelids clicking together can be easily heard over the phone.

But that's as long as the silence lasts.]

Makes sense t' me! Alright, g-g-g-girlie! I'll trust ya on that one!

[catpiper]

I'll say your name-I'll reach out to your heart and say 'I found her' when I see her, okay?

Sounds like a p-plan, girlie! Gimme a ring anytime! I'll just be w-w-wanderin' 'round th' beach!
