Though trade with the Storyteller has proven to be a useful method for acquiring items, it seems unwise to rely on it when alternative methods are readily available.

(Admittedly those methods are gross and also time consuming, but it's probably good to at least have a backup supply.

It's not hugely important when they're talking about a few ancient guns, but orthodox Geth aren't exactly big on letting gods solve all their problems for them.)

If these guns are utilized, a continuous supply of gunpowder will be necessary. Though it is possible to obtain this from the storyteller, it is prudent to explore other methods, considering that the Storyteller is not always available.

Yes. Additionally, sugar can be used in place of sulfur, and saltpeter can be acquired via the processing of organic waste.

(It actually shows up on farms sometimes, where a lot of animal waste has collected.

...Which is gross, but Legion doesn't get disgusted over that stuff the way many organics and more organic like robots do.)
