Farspeech stones

We are interested in available data on topics: magic, theology.

We are willing to provide compensation for data if desired.

Uh, my science book has a chapter on magic? And I've got a book that's got stuff about using plants and stuff in spells.

What kind of data?

I've studied a fair amount of magecraft and can cast well enough. I can explain how it works in my world of origin to some extent, though I'm not much of a teacher if that's what you're looking for.

Theology is a different matter. Again, it's something I've looked into, but I can only speak for my own world and not this one, and most of it would be relegated to stories and the like as opposed to actual proven fact.

Unfortunately, that's I have for now - explanations and the results of my own studies to the best of my remembrance.

Of course. Is there any way you would prefer this be done, then?

[...Like, are we just going to be doing this here and now, or.]

I have magic, but no knowledge of how it functions. Can you work with that?

[he'd like to learn more about his magic too, honestly.]

["Experimentation" strikes a poor chord with him, but he understands it's only the phrasing. Science has led to some poor results in his last game.]

..... I'm willing to consider it.

Do you want to continue on or is this more of a subject for face-to-face discussion?

I would be happy to explain how the magic of my world works to you, though I've found it works in a way quite unique from the magic of others I've spoken with. Outliers can both be helpful and distracting.

[Ignis laughs softly, before continuing in a more serious voice.]

We can speak on theology too if you wish, but I must warn you I'm rather biased when it comes to speaking of the gods from my world. I've learned quite a few unfavorable things about them since coming here.

You’re going to have to be a little more specific than that. Both of those subjects are extensive, even within one single universe.

I would be happy to teach you about monster magic! And...well, I cannot say I know much about theology, but I can tell you about souls?

[He wouldn't personally draw a strong connection between the two, but people from other worlds sure seem to.]

Personally, I've always felt all data has value. It's just a matter of finding what it is and where it fits.

[Considering his visual impairment and the fact he has no idea where Legion lives, Ignis doesn't make mention of coming to meet them. If a face-to-face meeting is so desired, he will let them bring it up.]

Where would you like to begin? Magic or theology?

Theology it is then. Please feel free to ask any questions that cross your mind as I explain.

[There is a moment of silence while Ignis chooses where he wishes to begin and then does so, sticking to the basic facts at first. It's easier to keep his bias out of things that way.]

The gods of Eos are referred to collectively as the Astrals. You may also hear those of us from Eos referring to them as the Six.

[There is another momentary pause and when he continues, it's obvious he is quoting something very familiar to any who live upon his world.]

Titan, the Archaean, steadfast as stone.
Ramuh, the Fulgurian, sharp as lightning.
Shiva, the Glacian, gentle as snow.
Leviathan, the Hydraean, relentless as tides.
Bahamut, the Draconian, unbending as iron.
Ifrit, the Infernian, fickle as fire.
Since time immemorial, they have watched over Eos.

Ah... Likewise, though it's a recent acquisition on my part.

[So. Neighbors, apparently. Charming.]

I'll gladly see you whenever you like, then.
ideismo: (32. I'd only come here seeking peace)

[personal profile] ideismo 2019-02-12 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Of course.

[...]

I won't ask for any compensation as far as goods or direct services go, though I'm wondering if you would find it acceptable for me to ask some questions of my own as well.
