Hello, everyone. This is Hifumi Togo and Nari Nishitani.
We would like to report a discovery that we found inside one of the trees on the Western side of Umui.
Inside the tree was some sort of tablet with a single entry on it. I’ve (Hifumi) done my best to try and write out a summary of its contents, but if you’d like the entire transcript, please let me know and one of us will provide it to you.
The summary is as follows:
We hope that this will be helpful in our investigation of this island and what became of its inhabitants. Nari and I are available for discussion.
- Hifumi Togo, Nari Nishitani
P.S.: If y’all come across flowers you might think useful, feel free to bring them to me, Nari, because I found some that can be used for medicine. When in doubt, pluck the sucker and deliver it pronto.

The summary is as follows:
- Date: A.E. 105, Spring Solstice
- ARUM-9 was the first of their kind fo be built outside of mere prototype settings. New updates were added almost hourly to their programming. (NOTE: “IT WASNT ENOUGH” was presumably handwritten right after this in some sort of bright red substance.)
- Common civilians may have had doubts; scientists, engineers, “the council” and the like must have been relieved?
- Resources spread thin
- ARUM-9 and their predecessors will help “fill in the gaps where [they] have previously struggled” (repairs, gardening, etc.)
- Most importantly, they do not get sick. (NOTE: this line was crossed out with the same red substance. “WRONG” was written right beneath it.)
We hope that this will be helpful in our investigation of this island and what became of its inhabitants. Nari and I are available for discussion.

I apologize if I've made things more difficult. It was quite a lot to fit on the rock, so I wanted to condense it... Would you like me to write up the transcript for you?
no subject
And yes, I wouldn't mind a transcript.
no subject
I'll need to ask Nari if she has any paper available, then. Please give me a moment. Should we not have any on hand, one of us will go ahead and read it on the stone for you.

Yes, you're absolutely right.
I'm able to write up the transcript for you now. Please give me a few moments; it's a little long.
[ komaeda will get a copy of this! ]

And I think I see what was happening. They developed better machines, in order for people to not have to come here anymore who were not sick. The machines were suppose to take care of the patience, help research and keep up the care of buildings and grounds.
However, they somehow also became able to catch the disease....

Come now, did a summary murder your entire family?

[ i'm sorry laurent she's too soft for her own good sometimes ]

[ ...even if they're rude! ]

I would advise you not use the flowers as medicine for now, as they could be diseased.
We've found datapads suggesting that the 'sickness' was named after flowers, which itself suggests that the plague manifests as flowers. [Gonna draw an arrow all the way across the Rock to Aster's transcript of this datapad.]

This just makes me want to pick the flowers more, honestly. I have a degree in science, specifically in organic chemistry, so I ain't afraid of catching something from them. May as well have someone who know what they're doing look at them, right?
And if I get sick, I do have medical training, so I can take care of myself.
Thank you for the warning, though. If worse comes to worse, I'll just raze the grounds with the hottest fire I can manage.
no subject
Sure. Someone mentioned that the flowers in the buildings burn unusually fast, if you want to investigate the odd ones.

You're right. And rude.
[says the hypocrite. hypocritically.]
no subject
[Though if he thought about it a summery could easily be the difference between life and death depending on the situation.]
I wasn't intending to be rude.
[But he had definitely been annoyed.]

That? That was a figure a speech. No need to consider it thoroughly.

We weren't even looking for the tablet for your information. It was stumbled upon when we were looking for more important things. If you're really wanting it, you can have the damn thing.
Be grateful she even decided to want to share the info.
no subject
And what is supposedly more important? The most important thing anyone can do is learn about this island as much as possible.
That all depends on her, nothing you say will change that.
Also, your language is far too harsh for the situation. Do you just like escalating situations? Do you lack a vocabulary to properly speak? Or perhaps you just like to be hostile all the time?
Ah, I know, you're the type who is too pointlessly aggressive to get anything meaningful done.
no subject
And nope on both parts. I'm in a fucking good mood right now despite the verbal abuse you've been throwing at someone who hasn't even been in this place three days. Seems like you're the one with aggression problem if you're attacking someone for something they weren't aware they should share.
Maybe check yourself before you fucking wreck yourself.
no subject
If you're on that island for medical plants I wouldn't recommend it. The entire island is a leper colony and the plants were most likely the disease.
Also, it's stepping a bit over to get involved in someone else's conversation. The mistake was corrected, and there's no further issue.
action!
Nari...it's alright. Please don't worry about this; I can handle it.

[Sorry Komaeda, she's not replying till she's calmer. Hifumi is more important.]
