[There are [2] very important reasons Ren's speaking to the world at large right now. Number one:]

June 19th is Tim's birthday, so you should smile if you see him and tell him he did a good job getting older. He's very good at that. [Pause, and then-] He has a talent for making birthdays too. If you don't know yours, he can tell you. I think he uses magic for that kind of thing.

But you have to say 'Happy Birthday, Tim' first-that's what you do.

And for the second item on her terrible agenda.]

What sound does a turtle make? It's not 'nya' or 'woof' or 'neigh' and they don't know what bubbles mean.

[They're weird!! Someone help. She needs to tell these animals something very important and she has no idea how to do it.]

[That does help, Muffet. She's baffled on how turtles communicate and she needs to know, so she quietly hisses to herself. Pleased with the sound, she says-]

I'll try to talk to them that way.

[But more importantly, because gift giving is something this spider's clearly great at-]

He'll like getting presents from you. It'll make his heart happy.

I'm not entirely certain that will work, but I suppose it can't hurt to try.

[Talking to turtles seems relatively less likely to get Ren injured than some of the plans she comes up with, at least.]

That's very sweet of you to say, dearie. Do you have any ideas about what he might like?

[It'll work! Ren has faith in that!! Hissing is a form of cat language, so other creatures might understand it. It makes sense.]

He likes music because he 'went to school' for it. He's an idol. [He's not.] And he likes to have his shoes painted. [He probably doesn't??] He likes to make people happy.

[Muffet briefly tries to picture Tim as an idol and can't quite manage it, although she can believe that he likes music.]

Do you know what kind of instrument he plays, if any?

Something with strings-a guitar?

[Muffet can't see, but she wiggles her fingers across an invisible instrument.]

He knows everything about music, so I think he could play anything that makes noise.

Hmmm, I might be able to do something with that...

[Strings, she can certainly manage. Getting the proper wood for a guitar and shaping it would be more difficult, but she might be able to do something a little bit smaller...]

That might be part of it, yes. Or I might just use my nonmagical silk, either could work...

I might end up needing to work with someone else on this particular project, but we'll see how it goes.

[She wonders if Magnus is taking commissions, yet. Her carpentry skills have improved greatly with his help, but she suspect she's still not quite ready to make something properly musical by herself yet.]
