My name is Xion. I've been here a couple months now, and there's something I want to talk to everybody about.

The Jormun have been talking about the sun dying. That it's going to be really bad - with darkness and monsters and other dangerous things. But I haven't... really seen that many people talking about it. Or at least what we're going to do. Before I got here, I came from a place where things like this would happen all the time and it helped a lot to work together, or at least not all fight on our own.

And if we're going to do that here, there's different things we should probably do:

• We need to get supplies together. Things like food and water, and clothes to keep warm. Maybe wood for fires too. We probably have healers but medical supplies too, in case powers don't work for some reason, or there isn't one nearby.
  
• We need places we know will be safe. Like camps, or bases. They'll need some kind of defenses, and people there in case monsters try to break through. We should have at least one place too for people who don't want to fight, or can't.
  
• If we have enough people with different skills, it might be a good idea to figure out who goes where, so that not everyone - people who can fight, or heal, or things like that - is all in the same place. Unless we all are in the same place, I guess.
  
• Has anybody talked to the Jormun about working together yet? We should probably figure out if they're okay with letting us help them, and if they are, how we can coordinate.

There's probably other ways we can prepare that I didn't think of. I'm sort of new at this. Sorry.

I talked to the Jormun. They're fine with us helping out. The elders had a few things to say about how they used light last time.

If we work with how they're setting up their defenses and shore up whatever gaps exist, that would give us a lot to work with.

How they used the light? Did the monsters not like it?

[At some point someone is going to tell her about the Undertale cast and she's going to feel very bad.]

That's good to hear, though. Once we figure out what we can offer, we can plan more with them.

The Night Creatures don't like light. That's why they're attacking the sun in the first place. It's both things they can't handle, light and heat.

They usually live in the darkest and coldest depths of the ocean.

That makes sense. Sorry.

[It feels like she should have been able to figure that out on her own. Oh well.]

That means fire would obviously help out a lot, or people with fire abilities.

[Mickey heads on over to greet and thank Xion - but he stops at the... cat? He assumes it's a cat.]

[Muffet pauses at the rock on her way back to the mana pool, checking to see if there are any important new messages. She's pleased to realize that someone else is working on preparing for the upcoming week of sunlessness, and is about to start writing a reply when she notices Xion nearby.]

[She approaches her with a friendly smile and asks:]

Excuse me, are you the one who wrote about preparing for the darkness?

I'll see what favors can be pooled for more light sources. We need that and enough first aid kits for everyone. Should have enough time for a crash course in how to use them.

[After seeing the message, Yuka hurries back to her shack, then returns to the vicinity of rocknet, looking for Xion.]

Xion! I was looking for you!

[Wave! She's carrying a jug of something.]

I wonder how often this happens....

I don't have any supplies, but I'm good at hiding and fortifying and staying alive. I can show you how to keep monsters out of buildings and make sure they're safe enough to sleep in.

If I have any favors left, I can offer them to help. I have fire and healing magic too.

[Xion blinks in surprise, eyes drifting from Mickey to who he's looking at. Then she smiles softly.]

His name's Excalibur. He's a friend.

[Xion looks up from her task: sorting through the contents of her hip pouch. They really had all been restored wonderfully - the letters, the shells, even the paper animals Yu gave her.]

Ah- yes. That would be me.

[A talking spider? ... she's seen stranger, honestly.]

Ah, Yuka!

[Xion's not hard to find at least, standing with her back to a tree nearby.]

Is it about the message?

[Why else would people be looking for her right now?]

The sun dying, you mean?

All of that sounds like really good ideas. I don't know what all places we're going to be setting up camp, making it hard for monsters to get in will make it a lot easier. Maybe we can keep some people's homes from being destroyed, too.

Also um, who is this, so I know who to look or ask for?

Yes. If it's every year, is it as worrying as it seams to be made out to? If it's once a century, or more, is the information we have really credible?

I don't know if the Jormun have said how often it happens, but Keith said that their elders know ways of fighting the monsters that've appeared, so it's probably been a while. Short enough they can remember, but long enough that only the elders do.

It doesn't hurt to prepare, either way.

[She holds up the jug.] I had this alcohol in my pack when I first arrived. I'm not really an expert at this, but I think that's useful for medical treatment. I don't have any real use for it, so I wanted to add it to your supplies...

I just find it interesting, to thib k such a literal idea of the death a d rebirth of the year exists.

[That seems... reasonable? Although now she's starting to see a critical flaw in her current plan. ]

I don't really um, have a place set up for general supplies yet. I should have thought of that.
